Wednesdays Mondays and Thursdays we wear blue. Meet the staff of the Centre de Santé Protestant de Ngatt.
(Apologies on the lighting for these photos, no one wanted to stand in the hot sun, including me.)
Everyone. Note: Cameroonians are not big on smiling for photos.
Chef de Centre Florence who is taking over while Moussa, my original counterpart, heals from a compound fracture.
“Mariam and Sesen” (I’m not the only one who gets a village name here.)
Dandjoma “Oman”: Nurse, Leader of Team 3 for vaccinations and my counterpart on these campaigns.
Agat: Our cashier and mama hen who has worked at the center since it opened fifteen years ago.
Gilenne “Maggie”: Our lab technician. Also loves dancing and accusing people of stealing her “bic”(pen).
Lucien “Baba”: Our intern lab tech
Richard “Kumbo” : Our intern nurse, who also translates for me when I give animations at the health center. He also generally has Gilenne’s “bic”.
When work is slow, they enjoy goofing off and dancing.
Caught a runaway goat. It’s casual.
Just trying to blend in (by not smiling, obviously)
